Built from a real event, not a hypothetical one.
Bookaroo started with a real community theatre production and a simple problem: smaller event organisers deserved a better way to manage ticket sales, seating and their audience without the complexity of large event platforms.
What began as a practical solution for local theatre has grown into a broader platform for schools, churches, community organisations and independent event teams.
Today, Bookaroo brings ticket sales, bookings, reserved and general admission seating, event products and pre-orders, digital tickets and event-day check-in together in one place.

Bookaroo was created by Jonathan Nel in Cape Town after seeing first-hand how much unnecessary admin can sit behind a relatively simple local event.
The goal remains straightforward: give smaller organisers access to thoughtful, professional event technology without making their events harder to run.
